The need to reduce energy consumption is increasingly important, whether for cost or environmental impact reasons. Solutions have been developed to reduce the energy consumption of a building, but they generally use complex building models, which makes them long and tedious to deploy on a large scale. In addition, solutions developed for one type of building are not easily transposable to another type of building.
Therefore, there is a need for a process for managing the energy consumed by devices in a zone of the space that is simple to implement and easily adaptable to different types of space. Our patent addresses this need by providing a physical model of the area, an objective function materializing an energy objective to be satisfied for the area of the space, and an optimization problem to minimize the objective function under a set of constraints.
Our patent in the text
The present invention relates to a method of managing energy consumed by at least one energy consuming device in an area of space, the management method comprising:
- the provision of a physical model of the area
- the supply of an objective function materializing an energy objective to be satisfied for the zone
- providing an optimization problem aiming at minimizing the objective function under a set of constraints,
- solving the optimization problem by an optimization device based on data from each consumer device to obtain optimal values, and
- the generation and sending, by the optimization device, of at least one command to one or more consumer devices according to the optimal values obtained.
